It feels so incredible to be here in the States. After 15 months of planning this tour I keep having to pinch myself to help come realise that we’ve actually made it.
The objective of the Whistle and Hum Sustainable House Concert Tour was to put together a trip that would showcase how I could expand my international audience and perform to an attentive listening audience while being hosted in earth and eco-conscious homes along the way. This approach encourages a more personal connection with audiences while helping to make the tour more affordable, not to mention an opportunity to share knowledge on how we can all live more sustainable, for statistics currently show that in clean, green New Zealand alone we currently need 2.1 planets to keep living the way we’re living. Uh-oh!
So far the tour has been mind blowing. In 2 weeks I’ve performed 4 free house concerts on a front deck, a back yards, a permaculture food forest and a commuinty hall. Each concert has been amazing! The audience has fed me, nurtured me and offered the most reassuring encouragement any musician could wish for.
The next show is in Tacoma on a private beach overlooking the sounds. from there we make our way to Portland, Oregon. The tour will continue into September making it’s way to Colorado and all the way back to Vancouver where we started. I’ve met amazing people, made life-long friends and best of all I get to travel with my family.
